Diet and nutrition play a crucial role in enhancing sports performance, influencing an athlete's health, body mass, composition, and recovery from exercise through the strategic intake of food and fluids before, during, and after activity.This undergraduate programme delivers foundational academic training in biosciences for sport and exercise nutrition (SEN), encompassing exercise physiology, nutrition, and metabolism. It emphasizes work-based learning to highlight professional opportunities in the field. Graduates are expected to pursue a one-year postgraduate qualification in SEN, such as at Ulster University, to gain accreditation from the British Dietetic Association (BDA SENr), enabling practice with athletes at various levels.
