About the course

Important notice – campus changeThis course will move to the Belfast campus. Students will change campus part way through this course Interactive Multimedia Design aims to produce interactive computing professionals with a deep understanding of and the interplay between technology and design.The course will provide trained graduates who understand and can synthesise information technology practice with the relevant design principles. In particular, they will be conversant with aspects of computer-based interactive multimedia, including practical creative skills and theoretical awareness of the complex interplay of social, economic, psychological, technical and aesthetic issues underpinning the subject. With their specialist knowledge and skills they can adapt their chosen career in the diverse creative practices associated with interactive design and the Web.If you want to become a professional with expertise in computing and design, then you should consider this course. You will be developing dynamic websites using the latest technologies such as jQuery on the client browser and PHP/MySQL on the server. The degree uses Adobe software as the basis for the preparation and editing of images, logos and animation. You will be encouraged to develop the ability to access and digest information from a range of sources, to use data and make sound technical decisions independently. You will also be encouraged to develop verbal and written communication and presentation skills as well as the ability to work as part of a team.
