Our four-year MBiolSci Zoology course is ideal for aspiring research careers in industry or academia. Study animals and biodiversity across scales—from microbes and invertebrates to birds, fish, mammals, and humans—exploring evolution, physiology, behaviour, responses to global change, and conservation challenges like tropical wildlife, disease outbreaks, and ecosystem maintenance. Engage in creative, independent learning through in-depth labs, the Alfred Denny Museum of Zoology, Peak District fieldwork, national scientific visits, and optional overseas field courses. Specialise in biodiversity conservation, evolutionary biology, genetics, or ecological modelling while building lab, project management, problem-solving, communication, and data analysis skills.Prepare for year-three projects (lab, field, modelling, or communication) and a fourth-year major research project of your choice, graduating with an integrated master's.
