About the course

This four-year course immerses students in Korean and Japanese languages from the beginner level, complemented by modules on Korean society, including history, culture, and politics. Participants develop a critical understanding of Korea's history and global influence while gaining advanced language skills. A year abroad at a partner university in South Korea provides practical immersion and life-changing experience.Students can tailor their studies with optional modules on East Asian society, refining language abilities in the final year through research-led courses and the option of a dissertation supervised by leading experts. Supported by the Centre for Korean Studies, the program ranks first in the UK for Asian studies, emphasizing skills development, career readiness, and contributions to global research.
