About the course

This dual honours degree in English and Music empowers students to explore their creative and critical interests across the arts. In English, you will study literature, language, theatre, film, and creative writing, with options to pursue pathways in literature or language, or combine both to examine genres like fiction, journalism, poetry, and digital writing. In Music, you can delve into performance, composition, musicology, ethnomusicology, music psychology, musical industries, and technology, spanning genres such as classical, pop, jazz, and folk, while utilising cutting-edge facilities like recording studios and practice rooms.Reasons to enrol include immersing yourself in the arts to build expertise and independence, receiving 18 hours of instrumental tuition from professional teachers in the first year, gaining practical industry experience through the 'Work in Music' module, and engaging in student-led volunteering projects to develop collaborative skills and inspire others.
