Our three-year BSc Chemistry at Sheffield focuses on cutting-edge science addressing global challenges, with sustainability integrated from the start. Accredited by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), it provides essential knowledge and skills for a successful career, including fundamentals in years one and two, followed by optional modules in environmental, biological, medicinal, computational, and astro-chemistry. Regular small-group tutorials, led by personal tutors and experts, deepen understanding.In year three, students explore advanced concepts, specialised modules, and a group research project in state-of-the-art labs. Ranked top 20 in the UK (The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2026), the course offers optional work placements, summer research via the Sheffield Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) scheme, and a pathway to Chartered Chemist (CChem) status.
