The Bachelor of Medicinal Chemistry (Honours) at UNSW integrates advanced fields of biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and chemistry. This interdisciplinary program serves as an entry point to the expanding realm of drug design and development, encompassing all phases from initial concept to clinical application.Offered collaboratively by UNSW's highly ranked Schools of Chemistry, Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences, and the Pharmacology section of the School of Biomedical Sciences, the degree provides specialised skills for designing and synthesising new drug candidates, analysing their biochemical impacts, and managing the stringent testing, regulatory, and ethical aspects of pharmaceuticals. In the Honours year, students engage in a supervised research project with leading scientists, gaining practical experience in drug development.
