About the course

This programme features a Year Abroad, allowing students to study at partner universities worldwide, engaging in a blend of cultural and discipline-specific modules. Aimed at those pursuing advanced research careers in chemistry, it offers a shared core curriculum in the first two years, with flexible optional modules from chemistry or other fields. The initial years align with the MChem Chemistry with Research in Industry programme, delivering rapid theoretical and practical training for a solid foundation. By Year Three, students deepen knowledge in inorganic, physical, organic chemistry, and catalysis. In the final year, advanced core modules and a significant research project within a departmental group enable tailored studies aligned with research interests. Accredited by the Royal Society of Chemistry, it fully meets the criteria for Chartered Chemist (CChem).
