Music is a profoundly rich and diverse field, encompassing creative and aesthetic practices, social and cultural phenomena, and scientific study. Our BMus programme embraces this breadth, allowing students to develop their creative musical skills while gaining tools for critical engagement with various repertoires and media. Additionally, it explores how music influences and is shaped by social, cultural, historical, and political contexts, and introduces the psychology of music and its therapeutic potential. The programme is highly flexible, welcoming students from varied backgrounds and experiences. You can customise your studies to align with your interests, such as focusing on cultural, sociological, and historical aspects of music, specialising in composition or performance, pursuing music courses exclusively, or combining them with subjects outside the field. Students engaged in performance receive an annual bursary for instrumental tuition.
