Joint programmes allow you to study law alongside another named academic discipline. Over four years of study you will take a range of courses from both the Law School and the School with which your programme is combined. Studying a joint degree at Edinburgh provides you with wide-ranging academic foundations and a broader qualification to apply for postgraduate study or employment. Sociology is the attempt to understand how society works. The joint LLB in Law and Sociology aims to promote advanced knowledge and understanding of the theory, concepts and rules of law. You will also gain an awareness of how individual choices are affected by wider social forces, and how they can be understood by placing them in their own social context. Through an analysis of the patterns and structures in human relationships, you will be encouraged to see the world through the eyes of other people.
A local representative of The University of Edinburgh in Singapore is available online to assist you with enquiries about this course.
