Our joint programmes enable students to pursue law in conjunction with another discipline, such as politics, over a four-year period. You will engage in a variety of courses from both the Law School and the School of Social and Political Science. The LLB Law and Politics degree fosters in-depth knowledge of legal theory, concepts, and rules, while also developing an understanding of political systems' decision-making processes, mechanisms for change, and analytical values.Politics examines the theory and practice of governance, exploring how institutions create rules, the distribution of power, and the implications of decisions in pursuit of a just society. Drawing on expert faculty, you will investigate conflicts over power, participation, and resources at local, national, and international levels, including ethical dimensions of political action. Edinburgh's location, with access to the Scottish Parliament, government institutions, and archives, enhances this study.
A local representative of The University of Edinburgh in Singapore is available online to assist you with enquiries about this course.
