University mathematics fosters a distinctive way of thinking, cultivating a rigorous mindset and introducing advanced concepts beyond school-level studies. Its modular design enables specialisation in areas like mathematical biology or scientific computing.In the first two years, students complement their mathematics courses with subjects in fields such as physics, informatics, philosophy, or languages. From Year 3, the focus shifts exclusively to the degree. Flexibility allows switching between BSc and MMath programmes until the start of Year 4, based on academic performance. Additionally, an accelerated option permits entry in Year 2, reducing the BSc to three years and concentrating on mathematics from the outset.
