The Bachelor of Pharmacy programme is designed in collaboration with leading New Zealand pharmacists to address the evolving demands of contemporary and future pharmacy practice. It moves beyond traditional drug chemistry and delivery, emphasizing drug development, patient utilization, and enhancing pharmacists' patient care through interactions with other health professionals.Key themes in population medicine, social sciences, pharmacology, pharmacy practice, and pharmaceutics run throughout the programme, supported by courses in biomedical science, medicinal chemistry, immunology, and pharmacy practice, including ethical and management considerations. Entry is competitive and limited to 100 places per year, based on academic merit and personal qualities evaluated in a Multiple Mini Interview (MMI). Application categories include first-year entry from the BHSc or BSc at the University of Auckland, and alternative admission. Note that entry criteria may change annually, direct entry from secondary school is unavailable, shortlisted applicants undergo an MMI, and special schemes exist for domestic students.
