About the course

St George's Paramedic Science BSc is one of the UK's largest programs, integrating workplace learning, academic study, and practical skills training to prepare effective clinicians for diverse scenarios, including minor illnesses, chronic conditions, mental health, and social care. Students undertake placements in varied settings, such as the London Ambulance Service, hospital departments (including accident and emergency, theatres, and maternity), and community sites like GP surgeries and mental health units. Practical training occurs in a state-of-the-art simulation centre featuring immersion rooms, clinical labs, and replica ambulances, allowing safe practice of scenarios.Approved by the Health and Care Professions Council, the course enables graduates to apply for registration. Established in 1752, St George's, University of London, focuses on health sciences education and research, sharing a site with a major teaching hospital. Modules cover foundational health theories and paramedic-specific topics, with placements integral to the curriculum. Students can join the British Paramedic Association, and further details on modules and assessments are available on the university website.
