This Joint Honours course enhances your knowledge of drama and theatre while providing the chance to achieve fluency in French, German, Italian, or Spanish. Regardless of your starting level, you will develop core language skills in writing, reading, speaking, and listening, guided by native speakers. The curriculum explores the literature, art, culture, and history of the chosen language region, from 17th-century French theatre to contemporary Spanish visual arts. As a modern linguist, you will build strong communication and research abilities, complemented by cross-cultural insights. In your third year, you can spend time abroad, immersing yourself in another culture to broaden your perspectives.The Drama programme at Royal Holloway places you at the heart of a world-leading department, where theory and practice intertwine to foster informed theatre-making.
