About the course

The BSc (Hons) Agriculture degree equips future professional agriculturalists and farm managers through a comprehensive, industry-recognised program grounded in cutting-edge research, extensive networks, and expert instruction. It fosters skills in science, practice, policy, and innovation to promote sustainable production, resilient management, and global food security challenges, including climate change and environmental impacts. The curriculum revolves around four key pillars: Technology and Innovation, Environmental Sustainability, Business and Enterprise, and Employability and Leadership, delivering modules that build technological expertise and career-ready abilities. No prior agricultural background is required—just passion for a dynamic sector. Students gain practical training, global perspectives, and personal development through industry visits, research trials, and a 15-week second-year placement. This prepares graduates for diverse roles, from farmers and agronomists to policymakers, with opportunities at organisations like Agrii and NIAB TAG, emphasising innovation, livestock welfare, and business resilience in response to evolving economic and environmental demands.
