Social workers promote the well-being of individuals, families, and communities by applying interdisciplinary knowledge of Australian society, social problems, and human needs to drive social change and transform lives.RMIT University has taught social work for over 40 years, with courses reflecting contemporary perspectives on the field in a changing world. Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) graduates emerge as resilient, outspoken advocates for a fairer society. In the Honours year, students pursue topics of interest through a thesis or capstone project, while studying social work, social science, and research. Field education is central, comprising 140 days of placements in human service and community organisations.
