About the course

Bachelor of Architectural Design

QUT is ranked as one of the top 100 universities in the world for architecture and built environment (QS World University Rakings by Subject 2023) and we are proud to have Queensland’s most in-demand architecture degree (QTAC first preferences 2022).   With a strong reputation in the industry, our graduates are in high demand. The percentage of our graduates who secure full-time employment is among the highest in the country (Graduate Outcomes Survey 2019-2021 / Australian Taxation Office 2017-18 financial year / Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) / ComparED compared.edu.au), and our graduates have the highest starting salaries of all Brisbane architecture graduates. You’ll be taught by practising architects with direct industry links, who’ll share valuable insights and opportunities that’ll give you a competitive edge. You’ll also have opportunities to connect with our young alumni who’ve successfully established themselves in the industry. Throughout your studies, you’ll undertake projects and hone your skills in our advanced design studios and fabrication workshops, where you’ll be guided and supported by our expert technical team. You’ll also work with students from other disciplines to address real-world challenges, just as you would in a real architectural practice.

Bachelor of Built Environment (Honours) (Construction Management and Quantity Surveying)

Our construction management and quantity surveying course is highly regarded by the industry, and you’ll be taught and mentored by some of the best in the business. Our graduates are in high demand, with many receiving a job offer before they complete their studies.   With classes conveniently located in the heart of the city, you’ll work on real projects and have access to exclusive work placements and cadetships with some of the world’s biggest development companies, like Multiplex, Lendlease and more.   You’ll build your network of like-minded peers, and have opportunities to make valuable connections at our regular networking and industry events.   Throughout your degree, you’ll work in multidisciplinary teams to address real-world challenges, and use the cutting-edge technology that’s changing the way the industry works.   You’ll also have access to our fully equipped workshops, where you’ll work on real-world projects guided by our expert technical team.
