Our Psychology programme offers all students the opportunity for a year-long paid professional placement after the second year, leading to a four-year BSc Psychology with Professional Placement degree.As a core science studying the mind and behaviour, Psychology impacts public life and addresses societal challenges in mental health, education, social inequalities, and conflict resolution. Our British Psychological Society (BPS)-accredited degrees emphasize scientific inquiry across seven key areas: Biological Psychology (neuroscience, genetics, animal behaviour); Cognitive Psychology (thinking, memory, language, learning); Conceptual & Historical Issues; Developmental Psychology (lifespan growth); Individual Differences (traits, abilities, motivations); Research Methods; and Social Psychology (self-perception, groups, culture). Psychology advances numerous UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Good Health and Wellbeing, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Reduced Inequalities, Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, plus behaviour-change goals like environmental sustainability. SDG contributions are embedded throughout the undergraduate curriculum.
