The UG extended MSci degree in Food Quality, Safety and Nutrition with Professional Studies equips students with in-depth knowledge of three core areas related to food production and consumption.Food Quality focuses on ensuring food's suitability for purpose, including attributes like appearance, texture, flavour, and odour, and ways to enhance them. Food Safety addresses physical, microbiological, and chemical risks that could harm human health, along with strategies to reduce these threats. Nutrition explores the nutrient provision from foods needed to support the body in health and illness across all life stages. This programme highlights the interconnections between these domains and their equal importance in food production.
