About the course

Chemistry is a core science subject that touches every aspect of our daily lives and is central to our healthy and sustainable future within a knowledge-based society. Chemists develop life-saving drugs, materials and catalysts that can enhance our quality of life beyond measure and play essential roles in tackling grand challenges such as climate change, sustainable growth, and antimicrobial resistance. Our courses will equip you with skills essential for your professional career, including the ability to analyse problems, to work as part of a team, and to develop laboratory, numeracy and communication skills. You will gain an appreciation for a subject which underpins so many scientific disciplines through applications and examples as well as practical work and learning through research. Four-year MChem degrees are available for high-calibre students with the ability and aspiration to practise Chemistry at the highest levels. BSc students with excellent performance may transfer to the MChem at any time up to the end of second year. Degrees with a year in industry are four- or five- year programmes with a one-year industrial placement (which may be international) in the penultimate year. At Queen’s, all our programmes are accredited by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), meaning your education will equip you with an industrially approved degree.

A local representative of Queen's University Belfast in Singapore is available online to assist you with enquiries about this course.
