The course is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) with graduates able to become Associate Members of the Institution. Enhancing your employment prospects and developing links with industry are important aspects of the course. You will be encouraged to undertake a one-year work placement and there are field trips to companies such as British Engines, Siemens Power and EDF Energy to help you gain a thorough understanding of mechanical engineering in practice. You will get the opportunity to work on industrial funded projects with companies such as Nissan, TT Electronics and Tharsus.
