About the course

In response to the UK Government's Cyber Security Strategy 2022-2030, which addresses the growing need for cyber resilience amid emerging threats, this programme develops essential skills in information governance, assurance, risk management, penetration testing, and digital forensics. It is tailored for those seeking a broad understanding of computing with a focus on cyber security, including individuals with relevant work experience, enabling them to design, secure, and maintain computer systems for business continuity.Key elements include exploring digital forensics challenges, legal frameworks, hacking methodologies, and meeting BCS membership requirements. Participants will engage with theories in threat intelligence and ethical hacking. Teaching combines lectures, workshops, and independent study (around 30 hours weekly), with assessments via coursework, exams, and practical exercises, supported by experienced lecturers and academic guidance.
