About the course

Civil engineers design and deliver large-scale infrastructure—from energy systems and iconic structures to water storage and supply—that underpins daily life. Our BEng Civil Engineering degree develops graduates with professional judgement, core engineering principles, and the creative, responsible skills to solve real-world problems.Influenced by government initiatives, industry partners, and professional bodies, the programme is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM)—comprising the Institution of Civil Engineers, Institution of Structural Engineers, Institute of Highway Engineers, Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, and Permanent Way Institution. It fully meets the academic requirements for Incorporated Engineer (IEng) registration and partially meets those for Chartered Engineer (CEng), with further accredited learning needed for full CEng.
