From intelligent chatbots that ‘understand’ and communicate just like humans, to uncovering information from Big Data that could predict disease and save lives.It’s revolutionary stuff. And it starts here at Northumbria University.What will I study on the BSc in Artificial Intelligence?Starting with computer science essentials in your first year, you’ll become an expert in AI, machine learning, computer vision and evolutionary computation by the time you graduate. Demand for graduates with AI skills is high. The UK Government has set up an Office for AI because there’s so much demand for AI skills, but not enough people have them. This means - when you graduate from your BSc in Artificial Intelligence - you’ll be in high demand from employers. You’ll be ready for a cutting-edge career AND get to work on technology that will change computing forever.Will I get professional experience on the BSc in Artificial Intelligence?You’ll have plenty of chances to practice your skills. You’ll take part in a business consultancy project in your second year, delivering an AI project for a real-life company. This can be here in Newcastle or at our partner campus in London. Plus you can opt for an optional year in industry or studying abroad.

Assessment method

Your tutors will use a variety of teaching methods, which may include lectures, seminars, problem-based workshops, case discussions, practical activities, group work and tutorials. Teaching is backed up by a well-designed support system that will underpin your learning journey. You will have access to a Guidance Tutor with whom you can discuss any academic issues. Extensive feedback from both tutors and peers is built into the course.
