About the course

Our hands-on Veterinary Nursing programme combines theoretical study with practical experience in small animal practices, allowing students to develop clinical skills in diagnostic tests, medical treatments, and minor surgical procedures under the guidance of veterinary professionals. Delivered in partnership with the College of Animal Welfare, the UK's leading veterinary nurse training provider, the course covers essential topics such as anatomy, biomedical principles, and current issues in veterinary practice. Graduates can apply for registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and earn the VetSkill Companion Animal Suitably Qualified Persons qualification.Throughout the degree, students build expertise through progressive modules on body systems, professional development, and practical nursing, including emergency care, supported by work-based experience. Taught by an experienced team via lectures, seminars, and workshops in small groups, the programme requires completing 120 credits annually, divided into 30-credit modules, to foster competent and confident registered veterinary nurses.
