This course provides an innovative approach to literature, covering drama, prose, fiction, and poetry from the 17th century to the present, while balancing traditional and contemporary elements. Students enjoy flexibility in selecting units tailored to their interests, such as creative writing, film, cultural theory, or literature from regions including the USA, Ireland, Africa, India, and the Caribbean. Options include a third-year industry placement or study abroad to apply academic knowledge practically, followed by a final-year thesis project for in-depth exploration.The department fosters a supportive, intellectually stimulating environment with renowned writers, critics, and world-leading research.
