This course equips students to support and safeguard vulnerable individuals in society, fostering an understanding of human behavior within families and communities. It prepares graduates for rewarding careers in social work across diverse sectors, covering psychosocial themes, theories, and policies related to social welfare, safeguarding adults and children, and integrating academic learning with professional experience through extended placements in years two and three.Approved by Social Work England, successful completion enables eligibility for registration as a social worker in England. Students develop practical skills, including courtroom experiences in family courts and mental health tribunals, in collaboration with legal professionals. Placements occur in health, statutory social care, voluntary, and community sectors, primarily in Leeds, alongside core modules such as Personal and Professional Development, Social Work with Adults, and Critical Thinking for Social Work.
