About the course

This Sustainable Product Design degree equips students to create impactful, environmentally responsible products amid growing demands for climate action and social equity. You will develop human-centred design skills to craft inclusive solutions that minimize waste and promote sustainable materials, while honing communication through visuals, prototypes, and presentations. Hands-on experiences include digital manufacturing with 3D printing and CNC technologies, prototyping in workshops, and collaborative projects with industry partners to build networks and career pathways. The curriculum spans three years, emphasizing design theory, processes, and practices. Year one focuses on creativity, sustainable principles, life cycle thinking, and ethics. Year two explores inclusive design, business aspects, collaboration, and the circular economy. Year three involves developing original ideas into prototypes, professional presentations, and real-world projects. Assessment is entirely coursework-based, with continuous evaluation and no formal exams.
