This four-year Master’s degree offers a comprehensive and rigorous education in Earth Sciences, enabling students to engage with leading researchers. It allows you to pursue one of the pathways—Geology, Environmental Geosciences, Geophysics with Geology, or Geoscience—for the first three years, followed by a specialised independent research project in your chosen area during the fourth year. Tailored for those passionate about research, the program emphasises extensive independent and group projects, involving advanced quantitative analysis and key skills development. Students accepted into related BSc programs may transfer to this MSci at the end of their second year, culminating in a custom research project and advanced modules that integrate knowledge for professional or research careers.The course prepares graduates for employment or PhD studies, with alumni securing roles at prominent organisations and universities globally. In years one to three, you must select modules from your chosen BSc route. Assessment combines coursework, class tests, and end-of-year exams, with a major focus on the Year 3 dissertation and Year 4 research project.
