Civil and environmental engineers design, build, and maintain the infrastructure shaping daily life, emphasizing environmental challenges like waste management, contaminated land, and water treatment. This accredited MEng programme equips students with essential knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience through laboratory sessions, field trips, projects, and design classes. Participants tackle real-world engineering problems individually and in multidisciplinary teams, fostering teamwork, communication, and project management skills in an open-access makerspace.Distinctive features include a salaried industrial placement in the UK or abroad (e.g., Arup, Mott MacDonald, WSP); accreditation by the Institution of Civil Engineers, Institution of Structural Engineers, Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, and Institute of Highway Engineers for Incorporated Engineer registration and partial Chartered Engineer requirements; industry-informed content delivered by chartered engineers; and extensive design-focused practical work in specialized facilities.
