About the course

This course is a nationally recognised pre-join degree programme, licensed by the College of Policing and delivered by subject matter experts and seasoned practitioners, including former police officers. It equips students with essential transferable skills for a career as a Police Constable. Developed in collaboration with various police services and the College of Policing, the programme explores core policing concepts while building practical skills for law enforcement roles. An optional professional placement year is available, allowing students to spend a full year with an employer after completing their second year. This experience provides valuable career insights, with some students securing future employment with the same organisation. Students must source a suitable placement, utilising the university’s employer networks and careers support. Upon securing a placement, they can transfer to the relevant course version, noting that fees equivalent to 20% of the full-time rate apply during this year.
