Our state-of-the-art simulation facilities and placement opportunities with Midlands NHS Trusts and non-NHS providers give you the ideal preparation for a rewarding career in nursing – and an opportunity to transform the way people are cared for in the future. Our BSc (Hons) Nursing course is integrated for the first two years of the course meaning that, for university-based activities, all fields of nursing work together. Your final year of study will be specific to whichever field you have chosen to specialise in – Adult, Child, Learning Disability or Mental Health. You will gain essential hands-on clinical skills through placements, all of which will be specific to your chosen field of nursing, and develop your skills in demonstrating care and compassion that reassures patients/service users and their families that a professional is at their side. You will learn how to assess, implement, plan and evaluate care for patients in a variety of settings during your training. We have strong links with some of the largest NHS Trusts in the country, including University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital, and Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust, so you will gain a variety of experience and have access to a network of invaluable contacts.
