Our BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering degree equips you with the skills to excel in mechanical engineering tasks across organisations, emphasising sustainable futures and the Government's STEM agenda. You will master industry-standard analytical tools, hone design skills using facilities like test cells and exhaust analysis equipment, and engage in project-based learning. This fosters teamwork, practical application of engineering science to real-world problems, problem-solving, project management, creative thinking, and leadership—preparing you for immediate employment through advanced modelling, simulation, and independent research.An optional professional placement year after Year 2 offers hands-on experience with employers, supported by our Careers team and networks; fees are 20% of full-time rate.
