About the course

Our Human Resource Management (HRM) degree equips students with essential tools to build high-performing workforces and innovative teams vital for business success. It explores the importance of motivating and managing employees, highlighting the direct link between workforce performance and organisational outcomes. The program covers all facets of people management, delivering foundational knowledge, professional competence, and exposure to digital technologies in key areas such as recruitment, training, development, onboarding, and performance management. Accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), it aligns with the CIPD Profession Map, granting graduates full exemption from the academic requirements for associate membership. An optional professional placement year is available after the second year, enabling students to spend a full year with an employer to gain practical experience and explore career paths. Supported by the university's extensive employer networks and careers teams, students must secure their own placement and can transfer to the placement version of the course. Note that fees for this year equate to 20% of the full-time course fee.
