Our BA Fashion Design course offers a comprehensive education in fashion design, emphasizing innovation in skills and craftsmanship while focusing on sustainability, systems thinking, and socioeconomic practices. It provides international opportunities and industry partnerships to foster individuality, creativity, and employability. Students collaborate with experts and follow a decolonized curriculum for 2D and 3D design. In the first year, foundational skills in garment construction, materials, and draping are explored in an atelier setting. The second year introduces systems thinking, balancing traditional and digital craftsmanship. The final year allows expression of personal design methodologies through various formats, such as garment collections or digital technologies.An optional professional placement year, supported by our careers team, can be taken between the second and final years, with past students securing roles at brands like Paul Smith and Adidas. This experience enhances career prospects, and we boast a strong reputation for producing original, employable graduates whose award-winning portfolios are showcased on global platforms. Note that placement year fees equate to 20% of the full-time course fee.
