Our versatile BA (Hons) English course offers flexibility to select subjects aligning with your interests at each degree stage. Combine literary and linguistic studies, critical and creative approaches, historical and contemporary perspectives, gaining comprehensive knowledge across literary periods, language analysis, and writing practices. The programme explores language, writing, and texts; examines diverse literature; and develops cogent, imaginative writing skills, empowering you as an individual, collaborator, and future professional.An optional professional placement year is available after year two, enabling a full year with an employer to explore career paths—many students return post-graduation. Leverage the University’s employer network and Careers team support to secure a placement, then transfer to the placement variant (fees: 20% of full-time rate).
