About the course

Our BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology degree, accredited by the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) and the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), blends the science of construction with the art of design. It emphasizes creating and structuring the built environment, including hands-on learning through industry links, advanced CAD and visualization software, and skills in designing, analyzing buildings, and addressing buildability, technology, procurement, and sustainability in UK and global contexts.Students engage in live projects, Building Information Modelling (BIM), and negotiations with planning authorities, alongside project and contract management. Supported by experienced staff and facilities at our Birmingham City Centre Campus, opportunities include work placements, architectural festivals, and field trips. An optional professional placement year allows a year with an employer, enhancing career prospects, with fees at 20% of the full-time rate.
