About the course

The BA (Hons) in Games Art and Technology is a comprehensive programme designed to equip students with essential skills for careers in games art disciplines. It employs a multi-disciplinary approach, integrating technical and theoretical elements of 3D art and development, including environment design, character design, and technical art practices. The curriculum utilises a Universal Design for Learning framework to promote inclusivity and reflects current industry standards, such as procedural asset generation and workflows for film, TV, and VR/XR.The programme focuses on three core areas: Environmental Design and Implementation, Character Design and Implementation, and Technical Art with Virtual Production. Modules span three years, beginning with foundational topics like 2D workflows and 3D modelling in Year 1, advancing to character sculpting and game studio projects in Year 2, and culminating in a final project and professional practice in Year 3, with optional modules available in later years.
