About the course

The BA in English Literature with French explores the movement of language and concepts across time and space through an innovative programme blending historical depth and global breadth. It examines literature worldwide in diverse forms and periods, complemented by two annual modules in French. These delve into cultural and social practices of French-speaking communities—including transnational and diasporic contexts—while honing advanced bilingual communication skills.Guided by world-leading researchers, students shape their studies, specialising in chosen areas, leading projects, and refining critical practices. Key skills gained include communication, creativity, leadership, collaboration, analysis, research, and project management, preparing graduates for careers in journalism, education, arts management, writing, translation, publishing, media, marketing, and business. The programme equips you for international, transnational, and multilingual environments. An optional year abroad in a French-speaking country enhances adaptability, resilience, fluency, and transcultural competencies. Note: this new course will appear on our website soon.
