About the course

The BSc (Hons) in Social Work at UWE Bristol provides essential training to develop skilled social workers, equipping you with professional skills, a robust knowledge base, and practical placement experience to distinguish yourself in the field. You will learn to collaborate with service users, carers, and professionals to promote wellbeing, while building critical understanding and skills for decision-making in challenging situations and exploring current social work issues. Taught by experienced, registered social workers, the programme includes 170 days of placement across diverse agencies in statutory, voluntary, private, and independent sectors. This experience, combined with your qualification, enhances employability and leads to registration with the Health and Care Professions Council, enabling practice in England with adults or children. Many graduates secure roles with their placement organisations, and the course is accredited by Social Work England for industry recognition.
