Politics and International Relations, BA (Hons)

The BA (Hons) in Politics and International Relations enables students to explore both disciplines equally or focus on specific areas. It examines topics ranging from how social movements, cultures, and influential thinkers address conflicts, to issues like the EU, terrorism, and human rights violations, all supported by dedicated faculty and engaging teaching methods. The programme balances theoretical knowledge with practical skills valued by employers.In years two and three, students can enhance their expertise through work placements, study opportunities in Europe or the USA, volunteering with industry partners, and field trips to sites like the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Regular student-staff events and research discussions allow for debates on current political issues and skill development. Graduates are sought after in fields such as government, civil service, NGOs, accountancy, human resources, media, and journalism, with options for further research, education, or postgraduate studies.
