This course explores key periods in UK and world history to provide context for contemporary life, while offering an optional year abroad for enhanced global perspectives. Students gain practical skills in problem-solving, communication, research, and interpretation to boost employability, alongside access to internships and placements. It also develops understanding of human behaviour through studies in learning, memory, and social interactions. Ranked 2nd in Scotland for History and 3rd for Psychology (The Times/Sunday Times University Ranking 2024), the program is part of the flexible BA Humanities and Social Science Degree.The three-year BA or four-year Honours degree allows students to combine subjects from humanities, social sciences, and business. Professional accreditation is provided by the British Psychological Society, and opportunities for credit-bearing work placements in the third or fourth year further enhance career prospects. Note that the course does not award Qualified Teacher Status.
