Humans exert a significant influence on the environment through resource consumption, habitat destruction, and climate change. Comprehending these impacts on global ecological balance and identifying solutions is increasingly vital. The BSc (Hons) in Ecology and Conservation equips students with the scientific principles of ecology and conservation, alongside hands-on training in field, laboratory, and analytical methods. It explores interactions among animals, plants, fungi, microorganisms, and their environments, as well as human relationships within the biosphere.Students will study policies and management approaches designed to protect biodiversity and ecosystem services essential to humanity. Located in Stirling, the program benefits from proximity to varied landscapes and extensive partnerships with environmental organizations across the UK. Collaborations with national and international entities, including conservation charities and government agencies, offer opportunities for dissertations, placements, guest lectures, and field training. Note that this course does not confer qualified teacher status (QTS), required for teaching in state schools in England or Wales.
