Graphic Communication, BA (Hons)

At Winchester School of Art, part of the University of Southampton, students explore a specialist arts campus with purpose-built studios and expert guidance. As one of the few Russell Group art schools, it offers industry exposure through guest lectures, live briefs, placements, and internships, preparing graduates for creative careers—93% of whom were employed or in further study 15 months after graduation (Graduate Outcomes 2020/2021). The BA in Graphic Communication builds expertise in design, motion, interaction, illustration, and photography, allowing specialisation in areas like design for good, identity, narrative, and future environments, while emphasising sustainable practices and innovation.The program includes modules on communities of learning, contemporary practice, histories of graphic communication, and professional contexts, fostering visual, technical, and conceptual skills. Assessment involves lectures, tutorials, coursework, individual and group projects, and independent study, with opportunities for exhibitions and international competitions.
