About the course

This Business and Management degree equips students for dynamic roles in global private and public sectors, focusing on team coordination, resource efficiency, and entrepreneurship. Lincoln International Business School seeks to develop innovative, job-ready graduates with strong problem-solving skills, an international outlook, and the ability to drive business impact. The programme encourages managerial thinking, critical analysis, and a comprehensive understanding of key business disciplines. In the first year, students explore topics like business analysis, organisational behaviour, communications, finance, and marketing. The second year delves into advanced areas such as decision-making, human resource management, innovation, and operations. The final year offers specialisation in subjects like corporate social responsibility, crisis management, or entrepreneurship, with options for a year-long work placement. Assessment methods include coursework, exams, portfolios, group work, and presentations, delivered by experienced academics and professionals. For the latest details, refer to the course page on our website.

What you will learn

In the first year of the degree, students can study contemporary business analysis, organisational behaviour, communications and finance and marketing. During the second year, students have the opportunity to investigate some of the more complex aspects of management including decision-making, human resource management, finance, innovation and operations. The final year allows students to specialise in areas such as corporate social responsibility, crisis management, entrepreneurship or finance. In addition, there is the opportunity to take a year-long work placement after the second year. This can allow students to gain valuable experience and apply their learning in practice. This allows for several options such as a placement year, a consultancy project or a work-based dissertation. Students who successfully complete their degree with a one year placement will receive the award title BA (Hons) Business and Management (with Work Placement). Those who do not will receive a BA (Hons) Business and Management award, or equivalent exit award. For the most up to date module information, please visit the course page for this programme on our website. Some programmes provide you with the opportunity to focus your study in a particular area through optional modules. Timetabling arrangements may limit the availability of some optional modules to some students. As the options often reflect staff research interests, they may alter over time due to staff availability.
