Microbiology, BSc (Hons)

Microbiology encompasses the examination of various facets of microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, and parasites, with a focus on their identification, transmission, interactions with hosts in disease contexts, and the escalating issue of antimicrobial resistance. Students will gain hands-on experience in epidemiology through sessions at the Marine Biology Station in Millport, located in the Firth of Clyde, and have opportunities for specialization in Bacteriology, Parasitology, or Virology.
