History involves examining the evolution and persistence of human societies over time. At Glasgow, we provide a comprehensive programme spanning medieval to modern eras and global contexts. Our offerings include small-group teaching, diverse assessments such as policy papers and blogs, and personalised feedback sessions. We maintain prominent research centres in areas like gender history, war studies, slavery studies, American studies, and Scottish and Celtic studies, informed by cutting-edge expertise in Scottish, British, European, U.S., and global history, as well as slavery, gender, and war-related fields.Politics explores the distribution of power and influence in society and its impact on decision-making across nations and states. Students engage with a broad array of topics, including international relations, political theory, and British politics. Opportunities for participation in our expanding study abroad initiatives are also available.
