History of Art / Scottish History, MA (Hons)

The History of Art program investigates the origins and aesthetics of paintings, sculptures, buildings, and various design forms. At the University of Glasgow, students access rich resources including the University Library and Archives, The Hunterian museum with its renowned Hunter, Whistler, and Mackintosh collections, and Kelvin Hall's innovative collections centre. A grant is also provided during the third-year break to support visits to relevant museums, galleries, and buildings.Scottish History explores the dynamics of change and continuity in human societies, focusing on Scotland's past. At Glasgow, it features cutting-edge research across medieval to modern periods, led by world-leading experts. The Centre for Scottish and Celtic Studies fosters a crossdisciplinary environment, actively encouraging student participation.
