History of Art / Music, MA (Hons)

The History of Art programme explores the reasons behind the appearance of paintings, sculptures, buildings, and designs across various media. Students benefit from resources such as the University Library and Archives, The Hunterian museum with its renowned Hunter, Whistler, and Mackintosh collections, and Kelvin Hall's innovative access centre. Additionally, a grant is provided during the third-year break to support visits to relevant museums, galleries, and architectural sites.The Music programme suits those with practical experience and an interest in its technical, cultural, historical, and philosophical dimensions. Each year, students select from a variety of options in Music and other disciplines, enabling them to tailor their degree to align with their specific interests and strengths.
